Restorative Dentistry

IMPLANT-SUPPORTED DENTURES

A denture is a removable, custom appliance that can replace your missing teeth. At our Congers, NY dental practice, our dentist can place complete dentures (for those who are missing all of their teeth) or partial dentures (for those with some natural teeth remaining). Both complete and partial dentures help keep the mouth in good form when any teeth are missing.

For those who have old, ill-fitting, or uncomfortable dentures, our dentists can convert those dentures into implant-supported dentures. Implant-supported dentures are a stable, secure solution for those with missing teeth. When in place, your implant-supported dentures will add an extra measure of comfort and stability. If you are interested in learning more about dentures or implant dentistry, we invite you to contact Congers Dental Arts today.

IMPLANT DENTISTRY

Dental implants are an effective solution for those who are missing one or more teeth. Dental implants will act as the replacement of the root of the tooth as well as its crown so that you can enjoy the benefits of restored strength, resilience, and support to the jaw and mouth.

Receiving your dental implant(s) will require multiple visits to Congers Dental Arts over the course of several months. During these visits, a titanium dental implant and an implant restoration will be placed by our dentist. Depending on your individual needs, your implant restoration could be a crown, bridge or denture. Implant-supported dentures are a wonderful option for those who currently have ill-fitting or insecure dentures, and we can convert your dentures here at our office. For more information on implant dentistry or implant-supported dentures, we invite you to give our office a call soon.

BRIDGES

If you are missing teeth, our dentist may recommend having a dental bridge placed. Dental bridges are non-removable appliances that are custom created to fit your mouth perfectly. When in place, dental bridges will not only fill the gaps left between the teeth, they will also:

  • Restore the function of the bite
  • Prevent your natural teeth from shifting
  • Help to retain the natural shape of your face
  • Give you a beautiful, natural-looking smile

We invite you to call Congers Dental Arts today to learn more about dental bridges and your other options for replacing missing teeth. We will be happy to schedule a consultation with one of our dentists.

CROWNS

Over teeth that are imperfect or that have recently had a root canal, our dentist may place a dental crown. Crowns completely enclose a tooth and restore it to an optimal size and shape. Teeth that cannot be restored with a dental filling or other type of restoration may benefit from a dental crown. To help improve the aesthetics of your smile, Congers Dental Arts can provide tooth-colored crowns as well.

Dental crowns can give you the beautiful, functional smile that you’ve been missing. We invite you to give our office a call soon for more information about general dentistry or dental crowns. We are always willing to answer your questions about dentistry.

EXTRACTIONS

While we will do all we can to ensure that your teeth remain in optimal health, it is occasionally necessary to extract (pull) one or more teeth in order to maintain your oral health. Extraction is our last resort in maintaining your oral health; if at all possible, our dentist will suggest another alternative procedure in order to save your tooth without harming your overall oral health.

If you are suffering from pain in or around your teeth and gums, please call Congers Dental Arts immediately. Together, you and our dentist will discover how best to restore the health and function of your teeth.

ROOT CANCAL THERAPY

If a tooth is significantly affected by infection or decay, our dentist may perform root canal therapy to restore its health and function. Root canal therapy is an effective treatment option, allowing you to keep your tooth without causing damage to the surrounding teeth. Root canal therapy usually requires just one appointment at our Congers, NY dental practice, although more appointments may be necessary to place a protective crown over the tooth.

If you are interested in learning more about restorative dentistry or root canal therapy, please call our office soon. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will be happy to answer your questions and give you the information you need.

TOOTH-COLORED FILLINGS

A filling is placed by our dentist in order to repair teeth with minor fractures, cracks, or decay. To provide a treatment that is both restorative and aesthetic, we provide composite or tooth-colored fillings. During your appointment at Congers Dental Arts, our dentist will remove any present decay, clean the healthy tooth, and then place your tooth-colored filling. Call our office today to learn more about tooth-colored fillings and your other options for achieving a beautiful, healthy smile.

WISDOM TOOTH REMOVAL (WITH IV SEDATION)

At Congers Dental Arts, our dentists have the ability to extract the third molars (wisdom teeth). We recommend having the wisdom tooth removed if they are impacted or if they cause:

  • Periodontal (gum) disease
  • Pain
  • Damage to other teeth
  • Tooth decay
  • Tumors or cysts
  • Infection

To help make your wisdom teeth removal completely comfortable, we also provide IV sedation. During sedation, the dentist will be able to painlessly remove your wisdom teeth. For more information on sedation dentistry or wisdom teeth removal, we invite you to give our office a call soon.
